Pantone Color of the Year 2017

Posted by Pepper's Team Blog on Thu, Jan 05, 2017

Pantone Color of the Year 2017 is Greenery

pantone-color-of-the-year-2017-greenery-4.jpg

We’re so excited about Pantone’s color choice for this year.

This refreshing greenish-yellowish hue is “Symbolic of new Beginnings” and has been created to “satisfy our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize” according to Pantone.com.

When you think of the color Greenery what comes to mind? new life? spring time? growth? nature? To us, the color and it's meaning represents an opportunity, as a company, to continue to grow and learn each day. It reminds us to always produce fresh, flavorful, wholesome food sourced from local Farms and businesses. It inspires us to continue along our path of being a certified green caterer and to remain socially and environmentally responsible. It excites us to be able to help design and execute our client’s visions, keeping up with current trends and inspire ways to use this vibrant color in many of our upcoming events.

Greenery is a beautiful color to incorporate in both small or big ways in the design of your event. How about a moss backdrop for placecards to create a natural garden look? Or  magnolia leaf placecards for a more subtle use of the color. Colored napkins are perfect for adding a POP of color to your tablescape.

Greenery also works well when incorporated into floral designs. We love the impact succulants add to an all white cake.

2015’s color of the Year, Marsala, took the wedding industry by storm, inspiring brides to incorporate the deep burgundy-like color into many aspects of their big day! From bridesmaid’s dresses and cakes to centerpieces and bouquets, we saw many unique and beautiful touches of Marsala in every season that year and expect that greenery will be a huge trend in the upcoming 2017 wedding season- we couldn’t be more excited!

Brook and Brian's Wedding at Charles River Museum of Industry

wedding charles river museum of industry
It was a beautiful day in September when Brook and Brian said "I do" at the Charles River Museum of Industry. This was the perfect venue for their rustic style wedding. The wedding started off with a lovely ceremony in the park by the Charles River. Following the ceremony guests made their way to the museum for the reception, where they enjoyed cocktails and appetizers while exploring the museum's unique exhibits.

On the second floor, guests dined at farmers table adorned with wildflowers (designed by a very talented bridesmaid) and lanterns, which complemented the museum's brick walls, creating an elegant but relaxed setting.  Bistro lights from Boston Lighting made the space even more intimate and whimsical. Throughout the reception they adjusted the lighting to fit with the mood of the evening.

After dinner, the guests enjoyed our s'mores donut bar before dancing the night away. It was a sweet ending to a beautiful day.

Unique Floral Designs : Suspended and Inverted

Suspended floral designs

A current event trend we are excited about here at Peppers Fine Catering is suspended florals  instead of, or in addition to, table centerpieces.

We recently created floral “chandeliers” at a corporate event in Boston. Because we couldn’t hang the arrangements directly from the ceiling beams in the venue, we custom-built 5’ tall frames to sit on the guest tables. The dangling flowers created an intimate, secret garden feel – gorgeous and totally unexpected.

unique floral event designs

We heard many “oohs and ahs” when we revealed the dining space. The flowers looked great at eye level, but even more striking was the view when guests looked up from their chairs. Totally memorable!

unique floral event designs

Another idea is to drape flowers from the top of a wedding arch or chuppah.  Imagine a bridal couple standing underneath a bountiful floral bouquet and the gorgeous photos!

Let Peppers create the unexpected for your next celebration – with delicious food and design/ floral ideas that will simply wow your guests.

Tuscan Themed Bridal Shower

Tuscan Themed Bridal Shower at Tower Hill Botanic Garden

 tower hill bridal shower

Tower Hill Botanic Garden was the perfect venue for Nick and Diana’s Tuscan themed bridal shower. Guests mingled in the spacious great hall while enjoying Italian specialties including our fabulous butternut squash and rosemary lasagna and a large antipasto presentation.

To create the Tuscan look and feel, we used topiaries, ivy plants, and branches throughout the room. We adorned the fireplace with lanterns and greens to help highlight the beautiful stone fireplace in the center of the room. Moss balls, neutral colors and wood gave the room a warm and welcoming feel that was accentuated by the blazing fire in the fireplace!

Cheryl and Craig's Summer Wedding at The Five Bridge Inn

five bridge inn wedding

Cheryl and Craig had a beautiful wedding reception at the Five Bridge Inn located in Rehoboth Massachusetts. Upon arrival to the inn guests enjoyed drinks and hors d'oeuvres under the tented patio. Following cocktail hour everyone made their way to the dinner tent. Seating cards were strung across a beautiful book backdrop adorned with moss and flowers. String lighting created a starlight atmosphere inside the tent that fit perfectly with the tablescapes. The remainder of the evening was filled with laughter, dancing, surprise improv, yummy food and a late night food truck appearance. Here is a sneak peek into their amazing wedding.
